Vases is what? What are the flowerpots
Flowers - an integral part of landscape design. Without them, not one dacha site does not do. Even if a small piece of land is small, there necessarily will be a place for some sort of flower. And that plants can be conveniently arranged, it is easy to change their location, and also not complicate the process of care, flowers can be planted in beautiful flowerpots. We suggest you to find out which street vases exist and how to choose the right one.
Why do we need street pots
Street pots are special pots that are designed to grow flowers on the street. They are made of materials that do not deform under the influence of different weather conditions.
Also, flowerpots are a quick and effective way of gardening, which in itself can serve as an object of the garden plot decoration. Grow in such pots can be a variety of street plants: petunias, convolvulus, azaleas, aubrieta, phloq subulate, heliotrope, pansies, lavender, marigolds and so on.
Categories of pots
The street pots differ in:
- size (you need to choose not only suitable for the site, but also depending on the characteristics of the plant, which will grow there);
- method of location (portable, attached to the ground with special locks, hanging);
- material (plastic, ceramic, clay, wood, concrete, stone, metal).
When choosing pots, it is necessary to build on not only personal preferences and financial opportunities. You should also consider the size of the plot, the style of the interior and the variety of plants that you are going to grow in the vases. The last point should be given special attention. After all, if you choose the wrong pot, the plant will either develop poorly, or even die. Therefore, it is necessary to select a pot that is suitable for the size and made of the appropriate materials.
Vases for flowers, street, plastic
Such pots can be found in many. After all, the street plastic street (see the photo above) is not just a budget acquisition, but also a choice from many options. To date, there is a large number of pots of plastic, which differ not only in size and shape. Among the plastic vases, one can find those that imitate different textures (for example, ceramic, wooden, marble, and so on). The quality of some of them is sometimes such that from a distance it is even impossible to determine what the pot is made of.
They keep the moisture well, thereby preventing the drying of the plant roots. And plastic vases can be moved from place to place, they are light enough. The only drawback of such pots is their fragility. With improper handling, their walls can be damaged (make a hole).
Ceramic and clay pots
Such vases are more expensive than plastic ones. But they also have a different shape and color. It is not very difficult to move them. A distinctive feature of clay and ceramic pots is the porous structure of the material. Because of this, the ground dries quickly enough, and if the pot is located in open sunny areas, the flowers may die. Nevertheless, ceramics (clay) is one of the most suitable materials for growing plants. In such pots, many varieties will feel comfortable. The main thing is to choose the right location.
Another disadvantage of ceramic and clay vases is their relative fragility. From the walls can be broken pieces, or they can completely break. Therefore, they must be set so that the possibility of damage is minimized.
But the variety of forms is amazing. You can choose both classic geometric pots and vases that repeat the outlines of ancient Greek urns. And there are also caps in the form of animals and various objects (for example, hedgehogs, rabbits, cars, carts and so on).
Such pots can be purchased in stores or made independently. Their cost varies and depends on the complexity of the work. If the pot has a simple square shape, then the price will be low enough. But wooden pots can be made in the form of sculptures (for example, a horse that carries a cart). Then the price increases significantly.
These pots are made of different types of wood, which is necessarily processed by a special antiseptic composition. Thus, the life of the vases is extended. But even so, they will soon become worthless. After all, with constant contact with moisture, the tree will swell, deform and deteriorate. And there is a possibility that various insects can be made in this material.
Wooden flowerpots are a natural and very beautiful element of the decor of the garden plot. Also, plants feel comfortable in them, because the earth through the tree is better enriched with oxygen. And in such pots moisture is well retained.
Pots made of stone are most often made to order. These are quite expensive accessories. But he will serve such a pot for a very long time. In addition to the high cost, a lack of stone pots is the fact that they are best installed immediately stationary. After all, they are heavy and difficult to move. They also do not fit all the styles of landscape design, and in small areas will look very cumbersome.
Stone flowerpots are not particularly different in design. Most often they have a simple geometric shape (for example, oval or square) or are made in the form of ancient Greek urns.
Concrete is an artificial stone. Therefore vases of cement have the same advantages as stone pots. But they are much cheaper than natural, so they are in great demand.
The soil in concrete vases keeps moisture for a long period of time, which allows them to be placed even on sunny areas and in hot summer. Concrete does not overheat in the daytime and cools at night not very fast. And this means that the flowers will feel comfortable.
Also, concrete pots are durable. But they must be installed permanently, since they are heavy and they are very difficult to move around the site. Also, even if you do not have any skills, you can independently make the necessary pots of cement.
This variant of flowerpots is not often found on private plots. But this is unfair. Metal pots have a lot of advantages. They, as a rule, do not take up much space, are light, have an original design and are suitable for many styles of landscape design.
The pots are made of stainless steel, since then they will last much longer. Otherwise, the metal quickly rusts under the influence of water and direct sunlight better.
As you can see, there is a large selection of pots - from various materials and differing in form. Therefore, you can easily pick up any flowerpots for the style of landscape design and the size of your garden plot. More often pots with flowers are placed next to the pergola, the porch, the entrance to the garage, along the path. Remember that flowerpots can not only become a garden ornament. If you choose the wrong type of pot, you can draw attention to the disadvantages of the site (for example, small size).
