Pubertal age: problems and solutions
Each person passes this difficult, but an important stage of his life - pubertal age. Parents are anxiously awaiting this moment, wondering what he will bring, and what to expect from his growing-up child. During this period in the child's body there are complex physical and mental processes. The hormones produced by the sex glands begin to flow into the blood, the entire immune system is reconstructed. There is an active growth of all organs, and, first of all, of the brain. Growth rates in pubertal age are different for each part of the body, for example, arms and legs stretch faster than the trunk, so any teenager seems angular and awkward, sometimes because of this, even the coordination of movements is temporarily disrupted.
Pubertal age in girls usually comes in 10-12 years. Till this time, girls are very poorly typed in height and weight, sometimes only 2-3 cm and a couple of kilograms per year. But from the beginning of puberty they have a "brutal appetite", the annual weight gain is 6-7 kg, and the body grows by about a centimeter per month. In most cases, in girls, puberty begins with the growth of the mammary glands. First the nipple is enlarged, then gradually the chest itself begins to grow. At the same time, the hips begin to expand, the waist appears. In six months or a year, active hair growth begins, and approximately two years after the appearance of the first symptoms, the girl has the first menstruation. Of course, all this is individual and depends on many factors, beginning with the predisposition at the genetic level, ending with the ecology of the locality where it lives, and the food that it uses.
A little later, pubertal age occurs in boys. He starts at 12-13 years and manifests itself in the rapid growth of the entire body, beginning with the genitals. Vocal cords are elongated, there is a "breaking" of the voice, reducing it by one octave. Begins increased hair growth: first in the armpits and groin, and later on the face. At the same time, the first pollutions appear, which indicates the maturation of the seminal vesicles. The youthful body becomes more muscular, the skeleton mass and muscle mass increase. Unlike girls, in pubertal age the nervous system of boys is more unstable, they are prone to frequent mood changes and discontent with themselves. At this point, it is very important to understand your child, because right now he has the character and character of the future man.
For parents, the puberty age of their children is no less alarming. The son or daughter, whom they are used to seeing as young children, become adults and independent. Now they plan their own time, make their own decisions themselves. They have their own secrets, they retire in peer companies. It is important in this period not to "lose" the child. This requires a trusting relationship with him, understanding and respect for him as a person. It is necessary to talk a lot with a teenager, discuss and encourage his decisions, tactfully correcting and directing them in the right direction. Only in this way can you become a friend to your child and strengthen these relationships for the rest of your life.
