What else happened to the Savior in August? Close relatives and relatives on this day were given souvenir apples from wood or metal, as well as various pictures with these fruits. In order to collect fruits on the feast, it was necessary to get up at dawn. Then the apples should be taken to the church for consecration. It is also noteworthy that before you even tried one fruit at first, you had to treat someone first - first of all, of course, children and beggars.

The artist could not transmit the face of Jesus. Then Christ washed and wiped himself with canvas, and in it miraculously appeared his features. The cloth helped cure the prince. Canvas became a relic and was kept in Edessa, and then in Constantinople. This event occurred on August 29 in a new style, that is why the Savior in the whole world is celebrated on this day by Orthodox Christians.
