It is rumored that the counselor is not a profession and not an opportunity to earn money. This style. Lifestyle, world perception. All the best improvisations are usually obtained from perfectly rehearsed pieces. Therefore, the leader can not prevent to develop all sorts of detachments long before the start of the season.
Camp: what you need to know about it
When you are going to work in a camp, you need to understand its specifics as much as possible. If the territory and buildings, the availability of modern equipment, quality and food system can be accessed via the Internet (camp site, feedback from children and parents, etc.), then it is more difficult to understand the program that is offered in this camp. Activities for children in the summer are diverse: from elementary command and individual games in the open air to various master classes and educational activities.
It is even more difficult to understand how the children's collective will be uniform. And it's not just about the financial capabilities of parents (and, therefore, more expensive clothes and accessories for children), but also about the similarity of upbringing and the level of development. Of course, the younger the child, the more he trusts the authority of the elder (counselor) and the easier it is to agree to the proposed entertainment. If we are talking about adolescents, cohesion around one idea or similar interests allows you to quickly establish contact with the detachment.
This is also important because a variety of detachment activities often involve joint activities. And if children are familiar with each other, they need less time to establish contacts with peers.
At the very beginning of the shift (almost on the first day) it is necessary to organize an "Evening of acquaintance". In what form it will be realized: an elementary representation of himself, a ball-masquerade or a game of forfeits - is decided by the leader. The main thing is that at this event the leaders can understand which of the guys can become a leader, who should be supported, etc. And one must also try to see what exactly can be interested in your squad.
How to occupy children in the camp
It is generally believed that in the camp, children spend time outdoors with their peers. But if they do not offer games and contests, classes in interest groups, sports entertainment, they will get bored and start dreaming of returning home. Or, on the contrary, they will start looking for entertainment on their own. And this is not always safe.
Therefore, counselors should develop detachment activities that will be of interest to most of the children. It is not necessary that all children want to participate in general games. Such events include all sorts of competitions, master classes, trainings aimed at developing the personality of the child, and so on.
The personality of the leader is important
If the counselor will be able to interest children, then consider that the "thing in the hat" - the children will have a great time, forgetting about the house with the computer. The plan-grid of detachments should be ready before the shift begins, so as not to waste valuable time planning or inventing after the arrival of children. Of course, the planned schedule is subject to change. After all, the weather conditions and the desires of children can bring their own conditions. Go on about the guys and completely change the plans no one will be, but correct them, based on the general mood, the counselors are required.
Intellectual or fizruk?
And one more thing that needs to be clarified for yourself. The leader can do anything! And with the ball drive, and learn the songs, and organize a quiz. The scenario of contests in the camp must always be different: from orientation on the terrain to the ability to cook, from collective games to ways of individual manifestation of each child.
After all, children are still learning to understand themselves and to search for interesting aspects of life. In this and the charm of summer holidays - you can try everything and find some new hobby. On the contrary, try to avoid the monotonous entertainment. Children just get bored of standing games in football or eternal intellectual quizzes.
Awards for victories
Like any person, a child needs recognition of his labors. Therefore, it is absolutely necessary that after each competition winners are announced. The spirit of competition gives rise to excitement, and what else is needed to solve the task?
A detachment event in the camp, the scenario of which is known even before the start of the shift, allows you to select the most diverse prizes and awards. All this should be taken care of in advance and prepare a lot of small souvenirs. Certificates and medals should be an obligatory element of the awarding ceremony. They can be prepared independently, and can be purchased at specialized stores. It all depends on the budget that you have.
What can serve as a prize?
- All kinds of stationery, because children will go to school in the fall, and the pen won in the camp will remind you of a wonderful time spent.
- Souvenirs in the form of trinkets, etc. - it is important for children to show each other their treasures. Remember how many key chains, pins and some baubles hung on school backpacks.
- Chocolates and sweets - what kind of child does not like sweets?
- Benefits and incentives in the form of "violation" of the regime are additional minutes of swimming in the sea (if the camp is naval), the opportunity to spend a quiet hour not in bed, but in the hall of the detachment, doing some favorite thing, etc.
With the latter the main thing is not to overdo it. Discipline children adore discipline, but in order not to cause discontent in the team and not contribute to total disobedience, it should be a reward for an objective victory.
And, of course, we must not forget that all participants should be commended and thanked - for this purpose cardboard medals and letters are intended.
What are the activities
Actually, like everything in the world, competitions for the camp can be divided into several categories. As we have already said, it is important that the child develops comprehensively, therefore it is necessary to cover all listed directions during the shift.
- Social and political. Elementary geography quiz may well fall into this category.
- Labor From the cleaning of the territory (collective work) to various master classes.
- Cognitive. Discussions, conferences on interesting topics.
- Ecological. Study of the eco-system of the terrain in which the camp is located.
- Sports. Team and individual competitions.
- Artistic. Drawing, acting, etc.
- Leisure Elementary games for a large team that can brighten up the waiting time for their turn to the dining room, for example.
- Moral. Unobtrusive classes on ethics and aesthetics, personal growth trainings, etc.
Actually, you should not be frightened. After all, a person in science is called Homo sapiens, but there is nothing threatening in this. It is enough to make a small adjustment when playing in cities - we call only cities from countries that are members of the European Union, for example - and you have a social and political party event.
Examples of squad events
Which party events to choose, where to start and how to interest children? Perhaps, for the young (inexperienced) counselor these are the most serious questions. Here are a few favorite children and very cognitive detachments.
At the very beginning of the shift, as soon as the guys arrived in the camp, they need to find out what and where is located. Of course, just telling and showing on the map is the easiest way out. But you can break up the squad into several groups and give everyone the same tasks (count the number of windows in the dining room, for example, or find the shortest path to the disco). When children study the territory on their own, they adapt more quickly to new conditions and will certainly remember perfectly what is and where is located.
Another scenario of contests in the camp may affect several units. To motivate the establishment of order in the rooms and in the detachment, you can arrange a show of unnecessary things. Anything that can not be used for its intended purpose should be launched to create thematic sculptures. The day before the contest, the leader announces: "Tomorrow we have an exhibition of sculptures. We compete with the first squad for the right to spend an additional half an hour at the disco. "
Evening improvisation will help children learn to navigate the situation and not be afraid of the unknown. This is a detoured event, the script of which is being written during its conduct. There are possible options: the counselor offers the first and last phrase, and participants come up with a story that would combine these phrases. Each participant comes up with only one proposal and waits for his turn.
For example, the counselor says that the story begins with the words "A granddaughter came for a vacation to her grandmother. ", And all should end with the words" and the blue bird flew into the distance ". More examples:
1. The forest grew near the city. but the wolves never came.
2. Parents left as a guest. a bouquet of flowers is withered and preserved.
If the children are mobile and energetic, then for this improvisation this scenario will suit: the counselor distributes the cards on which the roles of the play are written (people, trees, animals, etc.). Next, the presenter tells the story, and those participants whom he names illustrate it with their actions. In this version, more children are involved at the same time.
Moderator: "There was a forest (everyone with trees, etc., should gather and depict the forest), a small path spun between trees and led to the thicket (the" path "illustrates these words). And it ended in a clearing, which hid behind bushes. «
If the presenter lacks imagination, you can illustrate songs and sayings in this way.
