Do you vaccinate against a child's flu or not? That is the question
Before deciding whether to get a flu vaccine for a child or not, let's see what she is like. At its core, this is a banal injection. Intramuscularly or subcutaneously (although there is a possibility of drip administration), an infection is introduced into us. The dose is negligible, it gives an opportunity to cope with the problem of the body independently, through its own immunity, and most importantly, to develop special antibodies that can fight these viruses in the established order in the future. This scheme works for all types of vaccinations.
That is, a medical worker infects your baby with a small dose of influenza viruses. At the best coincidence, the child will not even feel the changes taking place with it, and the developed immunity in the future will allow to cope with the infection with minimal consequences for the organism.
Before you vaccinate against a child (or not, it's up to you), you need to undergo an examination with a pediatrician. During the injection the baby should be absolutely healthy. If the micro-infection occurs at the moment of weakening the body or after the transferred diseases, then the effect can be quite unpredictable. The effect of vaccination can be affected even by the active physical load received the day before.
In addition to a banal examination, the pediatrician will recommend the type of vaccine. The vaccination can be "alive", "dead" or split by bacteria. Each of the forms has its own contraindications, which must be taken into account without fail. It is the doctor who will be able to assess the situation in a qualified manner and recommend the necessary. The most famous in Russia is the domestic vaccine against influenza to the child "Grippol". No less effective and familiar to Russians are foreign vaccines "Fluariks", "Vaksgripp" and "Vegrivac". The bulk of Russian vaccines are manufactured in Irkutsk.
To vaccinate against the flu to the child or not, you should decide for yourself. The pressure on you is not allowed to exert. The doctor is obliged to talk about all the pros and cons of vaccination, after which you will have your own opinion, and you will be able to make a decision.
Some parents unconditionally trust pediatricians and do their children all the necessary vaccinations, but there is another opinion in Russia. It is believed that constantly mutating influenza does not allow the timely release of the necessary vaccine. When an epidemic comes into the country, it will not be vaccinated against this virus. There will be those who have antibodies to the previous options. So, vaccination against influenza in children in 2013 may not protect against the virus that will come this winter. But the fact remains, among the dead from the disease there is not one vaccinated person.
Moreover, the decision on whether to vaccinate against a child or not is taken by the parents in the light of other circumstances. The bulk of the population is vaccinated, therefore, the spread of the disease is slower and not in a very serious form. The uninvited child has enough chances to "pass by" the infection, because the society in which he lives, has already taken care of himself, everyone was vaccinated against the flu.
Children are recommended those types of vaccines, where the gene of the virus is used in a well-purified form. Most often these are isolated proteins from the virus, not more. Side effects are incredibly small, but still they should not be written off. The manufacturer indicates that about 1% of side effects are possible.
Take care of your children!
