Country of Childhood: All-Russian Camp Ocean
Camp "Ocean" is a multipurpose health-educational state children's institution of the Russian Federation of boarding type. The All-Russian Center for Children has more than thirty years of interesting history, new discoveries and events. And it all began in the 80s of the twentieth century ...
"Ocean" - camp (Vladivostok). History
In 1972, it was decided to build a pioneer camp for the children of Siberia, the Urals, the Far North and the Far East. Of the money collected following the results of the All-Union Komsomol subbotnik, fifteen million were allocated for the realization of the idea. A group of architects from Leningrad, led by Igor I. Malkov, developed a project for the institution. And so, in January 1974 in the forest park area of Vladivostok the construction of the complex began, the camp was declared the All-Union Komsomol construction. The Komsomols of the Baltic states, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and other union republics came to the "country of childhood". In 1975, the newspaper "Pacific Komsomolets" announced a contest for the best name of the institution. He was won by the eighth grade pupil from Vladivostok, Elena Staroverova, who offered to name the camp "Ocean".
In the summer of 1983, in June, the first counselors arrived in the "country of childhood". They were guys from other all-Union camps - Orlyonok, Artek and Molodaya Gvardiya. They helped in the completion of the amphitheater - the summer stage for three thousand seats, prepared for the reception of the children of the corps, invented names for the detachments, composed poems, songs, legends ... The Vozhatsky detachment at one of the Komsomol meetings decided to give the name "Istok". And on October 23, 1983, the Brigantine squad opened its doors hospitably for children. A little later, on October 29, the first in the history of the "Ocean" shift was opened. In the presence of a huge number of guests at the solemn pioneer line, the foreman of the trust, who had been building the complex for the whole time, handed the children a symbolic key from the Brigantine. This day is considered to be the birthday of the beautiful brigade.
Almost a year later, on August 17, 1984, the All-Union Camp "Ocean" (the photo is presented below) was officially opened. At the solemn line the Young Pioneers were awarded the Red Flag. The festival brought together hundreds of guests from all the republics of the Soviet Union, the best children's groups of Armenia, Lithuania, Uzbekistan, Georgia, the pioneers of Vietnam, composers and poets, the delegations of Eaglet and Artek participated in it.
Children's camp "Ocean" in its history stores many glorious pages: all-Union meetings of sailors, young talents, friends of the militia, border guards, tourists ... In 1986, in July, the first three corps ("Brig", "Fregat" , "Corvette") of the summer squad "Parus", and the introduction of two more ("Caravel and the Clipper") took place in 1987. In the "Sail", in addition to the shifts of the pioneer asset, "Children of boarding schools and orphanages", "Children's Press", "Leaders of October", "Engineering. Progress. Mankind "," Young patriots of Russia "and others. There were also international shifts of children from France, Vietnam, Japan, China.
In November 1993, there was a sad event - a fire broke out, and all five corps "Sails" burned down. They began to restore only in 1996. But in 1995 there was a new summer squad called "Kitenok", and in 2001, another one - "Tiger". In 2007, on the eighth of June, the first of the five fire damaged corps "Sails" - "Brig" was opened. And only in the summer of 2013, when the "Clipper" corps was put into operation, all five ships of the squadron were filled with wind.
