Small children, especially infants, are often prone to infection with the oral cavity.A white coating on the mucosa of the inner side of the cheek, on the gums or tongue indicates that it is a thrush. What causes this disease? The causative agent of thrush is a Candida mushroom. Hence the medical name "Candidiasis stomatitis". Since on the affected areas there is a coating reminiscent of cottage cheese, this disease received a second name - thrush. Treatment for a child of this infection sometimes takes a lot of time and effort. There are two causes of thrush. The first is violation of hygiene rules. Sources of microbes can become nipples, mother's breast, dirty hands, which the child constantly takes in the mouth and toys. The second cause of trouble called candidiasis is weakened immunity. Therefore, this form of the disease most often suffer from nursing infants.
