After all, you can create entire compositions from indoor plants by themselves, transplanting them into beautiful pots, sometimes even several different species together. This is a huge space for creativity, for decorating a living room or office. It is noticed that in offices the presence of colors raises working capacity, improves a microclimate. A house flower in a pot usually does not require complicated care. You just need to remember some recommendations.
Planting of houseplants
1. Having bought beautiful home flowers in the store, immediately transplant them into a permanent pot. The flower pot should be spacious enough that the root system of the flower could develop freely, and that the earth was sufficient to preserve moisture. Too big a pot you do not need to choose, your flower will grow slowly. At the bottom of the pot must be a drainage hole. If a plastic pot is chosen and there is no hole in the bottom,do it yourself with an awl. Plastic pots are good because they are inexpensive, and they are almost impossible to break. The clay pot lets in more air and, thanks to the porous structure of the material, retains moisture. The new clay pot must withstand the planting of the flower for 2 hours in water, so that the clay absorbs the necessary amount of water and then does not take water from the soil.
2. The soil for each family of plants requires its own. Consult in stores necessarily, otherwise a house flower in a pot may wilt in inappropriate soil. There are ready-made soil mixtures enriched with necessary fertilizers for each type of flowers.
3. For a better air exchange to the bottom of the pot, you need to pour a small layer of expanded clay or gravel. For a small pot, a layer of 2 cm is sufficient, for large pots, the drainage layer should be larger, about 5 cm.
4. After a layer of expanded clay, it is possible to pour soil into the pot. Fill the pot to the middle, and plant the flower in the soil. Top up the soil, not reaching the edge of the pot a couple of centimeters. It will come in handy during watering so that the water does not pour over the edge of the pot. You can pour a little bit of expanded clay on top. It looks beautiful, and will help to retain moisture.
